Slovakia is the geographical centre of Europe. Slovakia is bordered to the West by Austria and the Czech Republic, to the North by Poland, to the East by the Ukraine and to the South by Hungary.
The currency of Slovakia is the Koruna (crown) it is to be replaced by the Euro in Jan 2009.
Typical Slovak dishes are Goulash and venison steak. Many Austrian and German dishes are also typical to Slovakia.
In a bar or restaurant a pint would cost approximately 80 pence and a glass of wine would cost approximately 50 pence.
The season in Jasna starts mid December and finishes mid to late April.

The transfer from Poprad is approx 45 minutes. The transfer from Bratislava is approx three to four hours.
Yes a member of the Ski and Snowboard Slovakia team will meet you when you arrive at the local train station and transport you to the chalet.
No the flights are not included in the holiday price.
You can arrive at the chalet anytime after 14:00 pm local time.
You must vacate the chalet by 09:00am on your last day.
Towels and linen are included in the two catered chalets. Linen is included in the self-catered chalet but towels are not included.
The catered chalets get cleaned daily, except on the staff day off. The self-catered chalet is cleaned before you arrive.
In Chalet Rieka the chalet staff have their own separate sleeping quarters with their own front door in the basement of the chalet. In the Cottage, the chalet host is live in with his own room in the basement of the chalet.
You will be eating your evening meals in a selection of the best restaurants in town and the resort area of Jasna.
All allergies need to be notified to Ski and Snowboard Slovakia in advance and we will cater where possible for the allergy.
The staff day off is on a Thursday and the staff also have a night off on Tuesday.
Yes there is a cash point on the mountain, situated at the Hotel Grand.
Yes there is night skiing every night from 18:00pm – 21:00pm, however this is not included with your ski pass and will incur an additional cost.
There are some small shops on the mountain for these items. Or for a wider selection there are a number of ski and snowboard shops to choose from.
No you can not smoke in the chalet or on the chalet balconies.
Yes you can get a signal on your phone in the chalet on most networks.
Yes there are single room supplements and supplements for hiring the chalets exclusively.
